Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), is a species of perennial tropical grass, belonging to the panicle family. It is a native of south-east Asia and is cultivated in Mediterranean countries, among others. It is a grass appreciated for its ornamental and culinary qualities and is rich in valuable essential oils.
