What is the FLUSH and NO-FLUSH effect?
Flush in simple translation means ''to blush,'' among other things. Niacin flush is a fairly common side effect when supplementing with high doses of niacin. Although it is harmless and not entirely indicative of a poor quality supplement, its symptoms-including itching and redness of the skin-are very common. This is caused by the immediate release of nicotinic acid, which increases blood flow on the skin surface due to the dilation of blood vessels. Due to this effect, many people stop taking Niacin, but it is worth knowing that it can also be supplemented in another form - Inositol Hexanicotinate, which does not cause the FLUSH effect like its predecessor - nicotinic acid. This is a solution for all those who are simply bothered by the short-lived erythema and itching of the skin after taking nicotinic acid. That is why in our supplement OstroVit Niacin 250 NO-FLUSH we have used Niacin in the form of inositol hexanicotinate - for even the most demanding consumers.
