The Malabar tamarind is a tall tree that is distinguished by small, yellow-orange fruits that resemble pumpkins in appearance. The fruits of the plant have been used in Thai and Indian cuisine for thousands of years as a spice that, among other things, emphasizes the taste of curry.

Malabar tamarind is a source of micro- and macronutrients. However, hydroxycitric acid (HCA) is considered to be the most valuable compound found in the fruits of the plant, the content of which is standardized in the plant extract used in the OstroVit preparation, which has a positive effect on the quality of the dietary supplement.
