Chaga - Inonotus obliquus - a species of fungus from the Hymenochaetaceae family, also known as chaga or birch polypore. Chaga primarily grows on birch trees, although sometimes birch polypore can also be found on other species of deciduous trees. Chaga is a parasitic fungus that grows mainly in northern China and Siberia. Since chaga is distinguished by its high melanin content, it is also used as an ingredient in natural cosmetics.
